There is no better example of an ambitious individual than the young entrepreneur Mehrdad Amini. Rather than following the herd, 26-year-old Mehrdad was determined to make a name for himself and hence launched his own construction company, Amini Construction, at a young age. In this critical economy, when many firms have lost business, Amini Construction has impressed the industry with its quality work. In a short period of time, this construction firm has established its strong position in the industry by adding value to the commercial and residential spaces making it one of the top names in Canada. Undoubtedly, the credit goes to the entrepreneur that is behind it all: Mehrdad Amini.
Growing up in North Vancouver, BC, in an immigrant family, Mehrdad went to Sentinel Secondary in West Vancouver and graduated with honors. He then went ahead and studied Kinesiology at UBC, but instead of pursuing medicine, he followed his passion for business. Mehrdad always wanted to become an entrepreneur. Moreover, he had a thing for construction as both his parents were engineers. “I loved the idea of renovations and making old homes new again,” Mehrdad Amini shared while talking about how his entrepreneurial journey started.
Prior to establishing his own company, Mehrdad was a project manager at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in the real estate division. In this government entity, he was responsible for multimillion-dollar tenant improvements for VCH’s healthcare facilities. That’s where he picked most of his skills from. “I believe this experience helped shape my business and provided me with credibility in my role as a project manager and general contractor,” he informed. Working at VCH made him realize his vision for business, but what truly pushed him to start his own company was the fear of being stuck at a 9-5 job.

One thing led to another, and soon this young and ambitious guy ended up signing his first client. Once he started, there was no stopping him. He took his business to social media, where it took off, and he started getting more clients. The rest is history.
